BOOKING CHART POSITION FOR 2010

 n/a

Special Share:  Owners of shares that have “special” status pay a premium of 25% on their running costs contribution. i.e. If they have a twelfth share, they pay 125% of a twelfth of the total running costs. Owners of shares that do not have “special” status then pay a little less so that the total remains the same. This reduction for “non-special” share owners is therefore greater if there are more “special” shares on the boat, and less if there are fewer “special” shares on the boat.

Current Running Cost Contribution:  Although shown above as a monthly figure – for personal budgeting – OwnerShips manages a “sinking fund” (!) for each boat into which owners make an annual contribution. The amount of this contribution is decided by the owners each year at their annual end of season owners’ meeting organised by OwnerShips. When a prospective owner purchases a share in an existing boat in the scheme, he/she will be asked for a proportion of the annual figure according to when the transaction takes place. eg. if the purchase is made in May, the purchaser will be asked for two thirds of the annual contribution.

Prebooked Weeks:  Each twelfth share owner books in advance each year up to three weeks (including a fortnight if preferred). Once all owners have done this, additional weeks/part weeks/weekends may be selected at no additional charge.

Booking Chart Position:  Position 1 indicates highest priority for pre-booked weeks, whilst position 12 indicates lowest priority.
But then position 12 indicates highest priority for additional bookings whilst position 1 indicates lowest priority.
Positions in between are pro-rata on the same basis.
The booking system is arranged such that every owner is in a different priority position every year, and the whole system rotates every six years.
